Case number 040018481 - Sexual assault - On 1/30/04, at approximately 6am, the suspect entered a door that had been accidentally left unlocked at a residence in the 500 block of Edwards. He sexually assaulted the female victim and burglarized the house.
It would be nice to feel it would be safe to leave our doors unlocked, but it cannot be stressed enough, UNLOCKED DOORS MEAN EASY ACCESS. Earlier in January almost a dozen burglaries took place in the Garfield Park neighborhood. All of the burglaries occured because a door was left unlocked.
