Burglaries in Garfield Park.
Not far from home, there have been break-ins recently. The main way these burglaries have happened was that either the front door or back door was unlocked. Residents were even home at the time of the theft.

From 12/30/03 through 1/3/04, eleven burglaries were reported in an area
from East Street to Shelby and from Southern to Troy.
Four offenses were garage burglaries, and six were house burglaries.
Three of the house burglaries occurred when the resident was home. Entry was made through unlocked doors. One occurred during day shift, five during middle
shift, and three during late shift.
The time on the other two is unknown. Items takes were small enough to be concealed and carried, so the suspects could be on foot. It appears that more than one person is
involved.
Please pay attention to any suspicious persons who seem to be
loitering in this area and report them to the police dispatcher.
